Is the free scan safe to run on any website?

Yes. The standard scan only makes a few normal page requests and reads public DNS and certificate data — the same information any browser can see. It never sends attack payloads.

Why did my site show something as "missing" when I've set it up?

Older scanners report "missing" whenever they can't read a page — for example when a firewall or CDN blocks them. HiveGuard reads your site like a real browser and, if it still can't read something, marks it "Not checked" instead of guessing. Email and DNS results stay accurate even when the website blocks scanners.

Is an automated scan the same as a penetration test?

No. HiveGuard finds common misconfigurations and known issues fast and safely. A full VAPT by DevHive Studio adds manual testing of your logic, authentication and APIs by security engineers — with your written authorisation.

How long are reports kept?

Reports are stored for 30 days so you can share the link, then deleted automatically. Download the PDF if you need it longer.

What does the grade mean?

Every finding lowers the score by its severity. A is excellent, B is good, C needs work, D and F mean important protections are missing.
